What Is Ideal Weight?
Ideal weight is an estimated healthy body weight based on height and gender. It is commonly used as a reference point for evaluating body weight in a general way, but it is not a perfect medical target for every person.
Different formulas estimate ideal weight differently, which is why this calculator shows multiple values rather than one fixed number.

Ideal Weight Formulas Used
This calculator uses several well-known formulas that estimate healthy body weight based on height and gender.
Devine Formula
Men: 50 + 2.3 × (height in inches − 60)
Women: 45.5 + 2.3 × (height in inches − 60)
Robinson Formula
Men: 52 + 1.9 × (height in inches − 60)
Women: 49 + 1.7 × (height in inches − 60)
Miller Formula
Men: 56.2 + 1.41 × (height in inches − 60)
Women: 53.1 + 1.36 × (height in inches − 60)
How This Ideal Weight Calculator Works
The calculator converts your height from centimeters to inches and then applies three different ideal weight formulas. After that, it shows each formula result along with an average estimate.
This gives you a more balanced view instead of relying on just one equation.
Ideal Weight Calculation Example
Example: A man with a height of 175 cm is about 68.9 inches tall.
The calculator applies the Devine, Robinson, and Miller formulas to estimate ideal body weight. The results will be close but not exactly the same because each formula uses a different coefficient.
The average of those formula results can be used as a practical healthy weight estimate.
What Affects Healthy Body Weight?
Healthy body weight depends on more than height alone. Muscle mass, body fat percentage, body frame, bone structure, and lifestyle can all influence what weight feels healthy and sustainable for an individual.
That is why ideal weight calculators should be used as general guidance rather than strict medical rules.
